Evolence® is the latest product addition to the category of Injectable Fillers, off-the -shelf products that are injected into the skin to correct superficial wrinkles, skin creases and deeper folds on the face. Dr. Fata is proud to be one of the first plastic surgeons to offer Evolence® injections in his Indianapolis and Carmel, Indiana office.
Restylane® and Juvederm® contain hyaluronic acid, a natural substance surrounding the cells in your body. In contrast, Evolence® is made of collagen, a natural protein found beneath the skin that provides support, elasticity and flexibility.
Collagen was the original material used as an injectable filler and it remains the gold standard for comparison. The original collagen only lasted 3 months and as a result has been supplanted by the hyaluronic acid products, which last 9-12 months.
Evolence® is a product that promises to bring collagen back into the mainstream of Injectable Fillers. As a result of a new technology that allows the collagen molecules to be cross-linked, Evolence® is much more stable and can be expected to last up to 12 months. Also, allergic reactions, which were an issue with the original collagen, are rare and patients do not have to be pre-tested for collagen allergy.
Evolence® has the same indications for use as Restylane® and Juvederm®. It can be used to treat both deep and superficial wrinkles. Mild swelling, redness or bruising may occur but typically resolve in a few days.

The estimated total cost for Evolence® Injections is $525 per large syringe. Whether one or more than one syringes will be needed can only be determined after a consultation with Dr. Fata, and the $50 consult fee will be deducted from the cost of the injection.
