A mini-tummy tuck is the most limited type of tummy tuck available. This may be the right procedure for you if your loose skin and muscle weakness are limited to the area below the navel.

A short, horizontal incision is made in the “bikini line” region just above the pubic hairline, similar to the incision and scar used in a C-section. The loose skin below the navel is lifted, stretched and the excess skin is trimmed away. The abdominal wall muscles below the navel are tightened with stitches.
A compression garment, a medical-grade “girdle”, is worn for 4 to 6 weeks after your mini-tummy tuck as in other types of tummy tucks. Your surgery will be performed at our surgery center in Carmel, Indiana near Dr. Fata’s Indianapolis, Indiana office. A general anesthesia is required. If you are having other procedures, such as a breast augmentation or a breast lift, a mini-tummy tuck can usually be performed as an outpatient.

A mini-tummy tuck has the shortest scar and the shortest recovery time. The recovery after a mini-tummy tuck is shorter than a more extensive tummy tuck and you will bounce back sooner. However, you still need to protect your muscle repair for six weeks to get the best result.
