Am I a good candidate for breast implants?

The best candidates for breast implants are women who are:

  • Over the age of 18
  • Nonsmokers
  • In good health

Good candidates for this procedure should be dissatisfied with the appearance of their breasts and have a full understanding of the benefits and limitations of breast augmentation.

What is recovery like?

Recovery from breast augmentation is an individual experience. By closely following all pre and postoperative directions, you can help to reduce risks and improve your recovery experience.

Most women can return to work within 24 hours with our rapid breast surgery recovery program, though some swelling, tenderness, and bruising will be possible for several weeks. During your follow-up visits, be sure to mention any concerns you have about your recovery. This will enable Dr. Fata to address potential problems or allay fears as appropriate.

When can I resume my workout routine?

It may be six to eight weeks before you can resume your workout routine. However, range of motion exercises are part of our breast augmentation recovery program, and frequently taking walks is strongly encouraged. These can both help to reduce swelling, improve blood circulation, and assist in a more comfortable recovery

How long do breast implants last?

Depending on the type of breast implant you have had placed, the location of the implant, your lifestyle, and other factors, your implants may last for 10 to 20 years. Modern breast implants often last longer, but no implant is designed to be permanent.

Why would I need to have my implants replaced?

Breast implant revision surgery becomes necessary when an implant ruptures or develops a defect such as a ripple. It can be necessary to remove implants following the development of capsular contracture as well. Some women simply choose to have their implants removed for aesthetic reasons.

Some women never require breast implant revision.
