Woman receiving a dermal filler injection in her cheekJuvederm is a dermal filler that is used to add volume to the face and lips. The active ingredient in Juvederm is hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in every tissue and fluid of the body. The primary job of hyaluronic acid is to provide cushion and lubricant in joints and tissue. When concentrated and injected directly into the skin, this same substance has been shown to add volume, eliminating fine lines, reducing the appearance of deep wrinkles, and producing a softer, fuller, and more youthful appearance.

How Does Juvederm Work?

Juvederm is injected directly into the area being treated. Hyaluronic acid, the active ingredient in Juvederm, adds volume to the injection site, stimulating collagen production and helping to produce a fuller and more youthfully attractive appearance for several months at a time.
