According to a study published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery®, the official medical journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, breasts with a ratio of 45:55 are almost universally seen as “ideally shaped.” With this ratio, 45% of breast tissue is above the nipple and 55% is below – a shape that was found preferable to 87% of the women, 90% of the men, and 94% of the plastic surgeons included in this sampling of nearly 1,400 people. An even 50:50 ratio was a distant second choice in this survey during which people were shown pictures of various breasts and asked to judge their attractiveness.
