Many of our patients, when considering liposuction surgery, ask us about the procedure’s recovery time. If you’re a busy person with numerous time-heavy commitments across Indiana, you can’t afford to be out of commission during a lengthy recovery process.
Fortunately, liposuction is a common procedure, which has allowed plastic surgeons to streamline the recovery process. And Dr. Joseph Fata’s skill and experience with liposuction means he can minimize the time you’ll need to recover.
Most patients can return to work within a couple days of the procedure, though you will need to wear a compression garment to reduce swelling for a few weeks. Some patients need a week to return to work. For two weeks to a month you should avoid strenuous exercise, especially heavy lifting. You don’t want to strain your muscles while they are recovering after your liposuction. You should resume walking as soon as possible after your liposuction, as it stimulates blood flow and aids the healing process.
Once you’re on your feet, you can resume most of your routine daily activities. Dr. Fata will answer any questions you might have about your liposuction procedure and what you can expect after your surgery. If you’re an Indiana resident and you want to learn more about liposuction and the recovery process, please contact Renaissance Plastic Surgery today.
