New Year, new you? Cliché, sure, but succinct – and a clear rallying cry for men and women who have decided it’s time to move in a different direction.
For many people, the New Year brings with it fresh exercise routines and a renewed commitment to eating healthy. Indeed, taking those two simple steps can have a profound impact on your emotional and physical health. They may not, however, produce the exact results you desire.
Plastic Surgery in the New Year
The number of people seeking cosmetic surgery increases in the first few months of the year. The dark and cold winter months are perfect for snuggling in and taking it easy – something that will be essential during your recovery process – and the New Year brings with it the hope of rejuvenation, rebirth, and growth. If you have been considering a plastic surgery procedure, call Renaissance Plastic Surgery at 317-575-9152 and schedule your complimentary consultation to learn how we can help.
Top Five Plastic Surgery Procedures
The five most popular plastic surgery procedures are, in order:
- Breast Augmentation
- Liposuction
- Rhinoplasty (Nose Reshaping)
- Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)
- Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck Surgery)
These procedures have enjoyed their respective spots in the top five for the past two years, with liposuction and tummy tuck seeing the biggest increase in the number of procedures performed.
Who is Having Them Done?
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, men and women between the ages of 40 and 54 account for 49% of all plastic surgery procedures performed in the United States. People over the age of 55 seek services more often than those between 30 and 39. Men and women in their 30s seek services more often than those in their 20s.
Very few people under the age of 20 look to plastic surgery to reach their goals.
Noninvasive Cosmetic Treatments
The five most popular noninvasive cosmetic treatments are, in order:
- BOTOX® Cosmetic
- Soft Tissue Fillers
- Chemical Peel
- Laser Hair Removal
- Microdermabrasion
Radiesse® and dermal fillers with calcium hydroxylapatite as the active ingredient are the most popular. Fillers with the active ingredient hyaluronic acid, such as Juvéderm® are a close second.
Who is Having Them Done?
Once again, people between the ages of 40 and 54 look to noninvasive cosmetic treatments more often than any other age group – almost twice as often as those over the age of 55 and three-times as often as people in their 30s.
Smartphone face has increased the number of people under the age of 30 seeking facial rejuvenation. Almost 570,000 men and women between the ages of 20 and 29 sought nonsurgical cosmetic treatments in 2018.
