One of the most common questions we hear at Renaissance Plastic Surgery practice in Indianapolis, IN is: ‘What can I do about my skin?’ The typical concerns in women over the age of 30 are a dry and rough texture, enlarged pores, brown spots, and, last but certainly not least, wrinkles. In younger women, it is most often excess pigmentation from pregnancy or acne scars.

Only The Face
Although most patients use our skin care products and non-invasive procedures on the face, they can also be used on the neck, chest, hands or any other area that has been damaged by the sun. The principles of treatment and the expected results should be the same.
What skin problems does our skin care system treat?
The care of your skin is a process, one which can be divided into damage control (avoiding unprotected sun exposure and smoking) and the restoration of your youthful skin.
The first step towards healthier, younger looking skin is getting on a prescription based skin care program. Our skin care program is designed to give you healthier and younger looking skin whatever your age, skin type or ethnic background. It specifically treats uneven brown pigmentation from sun damage, age spots, aging skin, smoking damage and some fine wrinkles.
The restoration process, which reverses the signs of aging and improves acne scars, begins with a prescription-based skin care program. We know you have probably invested a lot of money at the cosmetics counter, but those products are just not strong enough to make a real difference. The skin care products you can obtain in our office use the same active ingredients at a higher concentration. They work better because they are stronger. That's why you need a prescription.
At Renaissance Plastic Surgery, we use Retin-A® (retinoic acid) in combination with our unique private label skin care line, which can be purchased only at our office. After you have maximized the improvement from our skin care products, Dr. Fata will review other options that would improve your skin even more, such as laser treatments, dermabrasion and chemical peels.
Once you have begun the skin restoration process, you can explore how other non-invasive options will enhance the appearance of your skin. It may be Botox Cosmetic® or Xeomin®, two nearly identical injections which will relax the muscles around the eyes and mouth that are causing wrinkles from excessive muscle activity. Or it may be an Injectable Filler, such as Juvederm®, Restylane®, or Voluma®, which fill out wrinkles and folds caused by volume loss in the face. Another option may be the Fraxel® Laser, which provides all of the improvements seen in our skin care program, only at a much higher level. Dr. Fata will discuss all of these options with you and recommend a treatment plan that is tailored to our needs.
